Kramerville Design Take-Over | Heather
Heather's love for all things beautiful has always been with her. Having had the good fortune of growing up throughout Southern Africa, surrounded by exquisite scenery and landscapes of the countries and homes she's lived in, it’s no surprise that Décor and Design has been her chosen career path. This, combined with drive and creativity that runs in her family, has been her personal mantra. Heather completed a BA degree in Visual Communication at AAA school of Advertising in Cape Town. To gain further experience, she interned at Elle Fashion and Elle Decoration and got the opportunity to assist pioneers in the magazine Industry. In 2010, Heather relocated to Johannesburg to start her new adventure as Décor Stylist at one of South Africa's leading Décor and Lifestyle magazines, House and Leisure. Her career at House and Leisure was not only exciting but also afforded her the opportunity to attend and complete the Vogue Intensive Summer Course in London (2014). This programme offered a broad introduction to the fashion industry via the lens of British Vogue. This multifaceted world of Vogue and the wider Condé Nast portfolio, which included GQ, Traveller, Glamour, Vanity Fair, Tatler, House & Garden and The World of Interiors, gave Heather exposure to all aspects of the industry, from journalism, PR, marketing, advertising, styling, art direction, retail and the international fashion calendar. This, with visits to galleries, events and exhibitions, was an incredible experience. In 2016, Heather started HEATHER BOTING (PTY) Ltd, and in 2018, was selected to be one of the Colab room setting designers at Design Joburg Exhibition, where I collaborated with selected suppliers and manufacturers to design my luxury “Hotel H” master bedroom en suite. That exposure gave rise to a number of TV appearances on the Home Channel (DSTV 176) on various aspects of fine home features and design. Today, a typical day in the life of Heather Boting is being surrounded by beautiful products, homes, meetings and building strong relationships with friends and people across the Interior Décor industry. Her ultimate fulfilment comes from planning, visualizing, designing and sourcing products which translates clients dreams and visions into reality!
